The District currently holds three (3) water rights permits. Two of these permits have been put on hold by the state of California. If the District does not utilize its' Water Rights, then there is a high possibility that they state may take them away.
This Committee would be responsible for researching various ways to divert the water from the river and how it can be used. The permits do not allow the District to "store" the water. The state is requiring the District to have a water flow measuring device placed in the river in order to divert and use our Water Rights. The District needs information on the various measuring devices that can be used and the cost associated with the device.
This Committee would bring their findings to the Board to assist them in how to proceed with this project.
